Thanks!

Love the piece! So tight and flowing.
The keys sounded awesome, especially in a metal song.
Keep up the riffing!

DanJohansen responds:

Love this groove! It's what I expected from you.
Cheers!

fire118 responds:

thanks, glad you like it!

I love the clarity and clean sound you have here! Experimenting is such fun!
It would be nice to see a list of gear and equipment/software.
I personally would love to garner some insight as to how you get a sound like that!
I am running hardware for all the processes and at 96Khz sampling it starts to boggle me..
Love the piece! Very soothing!

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

Cheers man. Equipment used:

Washburn acoustic electric, recorded by a shure sm 58 mic with the mesh ball removed, that was plugged into my pod x3 live.

Same with the vocals. The acoustic leads were recorded from the same guitar, plugged directly into my pod x3 live.

The electric guitar was my kids' fender guitar as his the only other guitar in the house that is in standard tuning ( outside of my acoustic). All my guitars are in b and or c. This was also plugged into the pod x3 live.

The pod is USB'd into a computer running xp and recorded directly into cool edit pro. Nothing else.

Cheers for the listen and review!

Really love the sound of the bass!!!
What gear are you running?
It's hard to get that stinginess on bass notes that you get... I take it that your p/us are a big plus in this!
Nice piece. . period!

Metallica1136 responds:

Thanks man, I'm really glad you like it! I have an Ibanez Soundgear SR 500 bass, the strings were pretty much brand new when I recorded this. I used Guitar Rig 5 as the VST for the bass amp, I don't remember which preset exactly though. Thanks for checking it out!

That was some super serial shit sir!!!
The growl was as good if not better than some of the shit on new grounds.. because I could hear the words!
What did you use for the rest of the song...other than the new shiny guitar strings!

JDawg00100 responds:

I used my Ibanez Xiphos XPT700 with a line 6 UX1 Toneport. Ezdrummer for the drums and all in Reaper.

I'm glad you liked it! Thanks for the listen! :D

Dude..... This is like Interactive novel type shit!
Have you thought about doing that?
A novel that has an actual life of it's own in the aural world while being stuck in the literal world!
Probably a first!!!!
It could use the "eye tracking" tech to guide the music to where the reader is...etc.
Still, a very nice piece!

cartoonistmusician responds:

Thanks! :) Ha, no I don't think I ever thought of that. That would be really interesting though. :D

This is the same piece submitted by GetZZK and the song title "little rock song"
I don't like people using the same material under different names to propogate votes or anything else!
Get your shit together!

Semaphore responds:

GetZZK was a friend of mine UNTIL he uploaded my song unallowed when I just sent him this song to hear it, had a lot of trouble with that. I have the original Fruity Loop Studio project file on my harddrive and decided to upload in later on NG. I have no contact anymore with him and have no access on his account. If you want let it prove from Newgrounds Admins if we used the same IP to log in because we haven't. And as I know it's the only song in another profile of mine. I can not prevent other people are uploading my songs but if they do report them because I don't want and don't allow that. To rate zero on both uploaded songs won't change that.

I'm a bass player that's been out there for 20+ years and am not doing much right now. But looking forward to hooking up with some people in the future to do some creative work. My favourite bands are "Iron Maiden, Judas Preist, Dio and so many more.....
